Job Description
To perform clinical laboratory testing which assists in the diagnosis of pathological conditions at Student Health Services.

4. Demonstrated skills in proper specimen collection, including patient preparation, transportation and storage of specimens.

6. Demonstrated skills in implementing quality control policies and procedures of the laboratory.
7. Demonstrated knowledge of factors that influence test results.
8. Demonstrated skills to assess and verify the validity of patient test results through the evaluation of quality control sample values prior to reporting patient test results.
9. Basic computer skills.

Level and type of experience
Some experience in clinical laboratory testing.
Some experience in performing CBC’s, mono antibody, urine pregnancy, rapid strep, urinalysis, rapid flu, whole blood glucose, sed rates and wet preps.
Additional Considerations (supplemental knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, licensure, certification)
1. Laboratory testing in an out-patient facility.
2. MLT or MT ASCP certified or equivalent experience, education, or training.
3. Phlebotomy skills.
4. Associate Degree in chemical, physical, biological, or medical laboratory technology or equivalent training, education or experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
Conditions of Employment
Hourly (wage) employees are restricted to working 29 hours per week on average or 1500 hours in total in the May 1 – April 30 period. This position does not have health insurance, retirement or leave.
The successful applicant will need to be available to work evenings from 5p.m. to 7p.m. during the Fall and Spring semesters.
This position is designated as sensitive. A fingerprint-based criminal history check will be required of the final candidate.
