General Summary:The health career intern will work alongside current employees to learn and understand different areas of the hospital and health system. During their time, the student will be working with a variety of supervisors and learning the basics of multiple job functions. While working throughout the hospital, the intern will be meeting with fellow interns throughout the year for soft skills development, meet with various department leaders and employees from across the organization.
Essential Functions: Fulfill tasks set out by supervisors from several departments. Assist in completing various departmental projects/reports. Work alongside a variety of caregivers and complete parts of job duties under the supervision or direction of the caregiver/preceptor. Complete a career map with 1-3 potential job opportunities of interest following the internship. Provide and receive ongoing feedback in a spirit of constructive criticism. Practices proficient customer service skills by displaying key service behaviors expected of all FTMC employees. Communicates effectively and proactively with supervisors and preceptors. Complies with all organizational, state, and federal laws and regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality, such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Demonstrates knowledge of safety policies and procedures by maintaining a safe environment. Exhibits professionalism in appearance, speech, and conduct, and ensures that services are provided in accordance with state and federal regulation, as well as organizational standards. Other duties as assigned. MUST BE A JUNIOR OR SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL ENTERING 2025 -2026 SCHOOL YEAR.
