Health Educator Specialist
Job Summary:MaineGeneral Health is a leading healthcare system committed to excellence, compassion, and collaboration in serving our patients, families, and communities. We are currently seeking a Specialist Health Educator to join our dynamic Community Health Department. This full-time position will play a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of residents in central Maine through accessible health promotion and disease prevention programs. Job Description: Responsibilities: + Lead evidence-based, health education programs such as Chronic Disease Self-Management, Diabetes Self-Management, National Diabetes Prevention Program, tobacco treatment and others to improve community health. + Collaborate with the team to create and distribute marketing and communication materials such as brochures, newsletters, email campaigns, social media posts, and health promotion resources to engage the community. + Provide administrative support through telephonic services for callers seeking resources via MaineGeneral’s Resource Hub. + Deliver community health education in a variety of settings, including schools, healthcare providers, patients, and community groups, to promote healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Community/Public Health, Marketing, or a related field (preferred). + Experience with group facilitation and engaging participants in health education sessions. + Background in developing communications, including email campaigns, social media content, newsletters, and health promotion materials. + Relevant licensure and certification in health education topics preferred. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting, creating presentations, and communication materials. + Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.
