Description

The Program Manager for Health Equity will lead initiatives aimed at reducing health disparities and promoting equitable health outcomes within our patient populations.

This role involves strategic planning, program development, stakeholder engagement, and continuous evaluation to ensure the effectiveness of health equity programs.

 

Reports To: Vice President, Health Equity

 

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Management: Coordinate and staff Health Equity Councils Educate staff on principles of health equity Design, implement, and oversee internal health equity programs and initiatives. Develop and manage program budgets, timelines, and deliverables.Ensure programs align with organizational goals and community needs.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Collaborate with departments across the organization, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to promote health equity.Facilitate meetings, workshops, and training sessions to build capacity and awareness around health equity issues. 

Data Analysis and Reporting:

Collect, analyze, and report on program data to assess impact and identify areas for improvement. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders. 

 

Policy Advocacy:

Advocate for policies and practices that promote health equity at local, state, and national levels.Stay informed about relevant legislation and policy changes affecting health equity.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing, Public Health, Social Work, Health Administration, or a related field (Masters preferred).Additional certifications in health equity, diversity and inclusion, or related areas are a plus. 

 

Experience:

 Minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, preferably in public health or health equity. Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating health programs. Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of cultural competency. Proven track record of successful stakeholder engagement and community collaboration.Experience in policy advocacy and knowledge of health equity-related legislation.

Skills:

Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking and presentation abilities. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools, such as Excel, SPSS, or similar software. Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and stakeholders, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and inclusiveness. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and creatively.Proficiency in grant writing and fundraising. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters degree in a related field. Experience with grant writing and securing funding for health programs. Knowledge of health equity frameworks and best practices. Bilingual or multilingual abilities, with a preference for languages commonly spoken in the community served.Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and other health information systems.

 

Working Conditions: Full-time position with occasional evening and weekend work. Some travel may be required.
