Powers Health is hiring a Health Info Analyst – Release of Information

Full-time

Position primarily located at St. Catherine Hospital, East Chicago, Indiana, must be able to travel to other hospitals as needed.

Job Description:

Responds to faxed, mailed, walk-in and telephone requests and determines allowable release of protected health information according to HIPAA guidelines, state law and hospital policies and procedures. 

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Minimum High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office setting or Health Information Management coursework.  Previous Health Information Management in a hospital environment experience preferred. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and troubleshooting computer problems.  Experience with document scanners and electronic medical programs preferred. Medical terminology experience or coursework. Knowledge of office procedures/equipment. Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines, federal and state laws covering disclosure of information.  Ability to handle confidential information. Must have strong problem-solving, communication and organizational skills; Detail oriented.
