Join our team at Regions Hospital as a Health Information Management Specialist (HIM Specialist). As a HIM Specialist will support the mission, vision, and values of HealthPartners/Regions Hospital. Health Information Management expert who has an excellent understanding of the regulatory, technical, and practical aspects of HIM. Ability to work under pressure with time constraints. Resource to all business units in HIM. Excellent understanding of the workflow between business units and actively able to provide hands on assistance, training and technical support in the various units during normal business hours and on call/evenings/nights and weekends as required. Demonstrated leader who performs Health Information Management support and data quality duties related to HIM Department including, but not limited to:
Compliance and regulatory requirements Documentation review Maintenance of forms database for the electronic record; review and approval process for forms Interact with internal and external customers, maintaining a strong customer service focus Electronic medical record and information systems testing and training Investigation of (improper documentation) billing/identity issues Processing of amendment requests and demographic changes Assisting with application-based errors Completing special projects such as ROI processes, as assigned EpicCare Link design, build, implementation and training Other duties as assignedWork schedule: FTE: 1.0 (40 hrs. weekly), Monday-Friday 8am to 4:30pm
Required Qualifications:
Education: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or related field and/or enrollment in an associate or Bachelor’s Degree program in Health Information Management.
Experience: 3-5 years’ experience with paper medical records, electronic medical records and issues resolution in a health information management environment with strong organizational and people skills.
OR
Enrollment in an Associate or bachelor’s degree program in Health Information Management with 1-3 years’ experience in a health information management environment with strong organizational and people skills may substitute for the above degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Management or related field.
Experience: Epic experience preferred. Some experience in a lead role.
Licensure/Registration/Certification: RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) or RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) credentialed.
