Health Insurance Payer Contract Modeling & Benchmark Analyst (1099) Location: Remote (United States); Mid-Atlantic Region Preferred Type: Short-term Contract, 1099 Project Timeline: Starts May-June 2025 Overview EWINGS is seeking a mid-level Health Insurance Payer Contract Modeling & Benchmark Analyst to support an initiative focused on transitioning payer contracts with facilities in Maryland away from a longstanding state-regulated pricing model to a new, value-based reimbursement framework aligned with the AHEAD model. This analyst will assist with preparing payer data, supporting the development of pricing models, and contributing to scenario testing and reporting. The role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills and a foundation in healthcare analytics who wants to contribute to a high-impact policy transition project. In this engagement, EWINGS is leading the strategy, modeling, and contracting support to navigate the transition . Responsibilities - Prepare and clean reimbursement data for modeling use. - Assist in the development of adaptable hospital reimbursement models using DRG, APC, and per diem logic, in alignment with upcoming AHEAD model guidelines and transitional state contracting structures. - Perform scenario testing and contribute to model quality assurance. - Document assumptions, update model templates, and manage version control. - Create visual summaries and internal reference materials. Qualifications - 2–4 years of experience in healthcare analytics or financial modeling. - Strong Excel skills; familiarity with payer claims data is a plus. - Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines. - Experience supporting provider contracting or actuarial teams preferred.
