Health Outcomes Liaisons Lead - Remote
Title: Health Outcomes Liaisons Lead Location: Remote About Us: Position Summary: Reporting to the Vice President, Medical Affairs, Field Medical Team Leader, the Health Outcomes Liaisons (HOL) Lead, oversees and supports the activities of the Health Outcomes Liaisons (HOLs) within a designated geographic region to achieve scientific and business objectives in Medical Affairs. Additionally, the HOL Lead will serve as a "player-coach," maintaining a small percentage of direct field coverage responsibilities. This role serves as the regional medical and HEOR interface between Vera and value-based decision makers including payers, specialty pharmacy, HUB, health systems, research institutions, and policy makers. The incumbent will apply in-depth knowledge and expertise of clinical, economic and scientific education to formulary and other access decision-makers. This will include delivering the value proposition and supporting evidence of Vera Therapeutics Product(s) to population healthcare decision makers (HCDMs). The position will provide payer and formulary clinical support to identify, develop, and maintain collaborative relationships with managed care thought leaders to ensure appropriate access to treatment. The HOL Lead will work collaboratively with our Market Access team within each of these segments. Responsibilities: * Maintain deep market and customer knowledge in an increasingly complex and dynamic healthcare ecosystem. * Engage in peer-to-peer discussions with national and regional healthcare decision-makers to provide scientific, health economic, and health outcomes information to inform access and reimbursement decisions. * Engage and build relationships with all payers including Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), Managed Care Organizations (MCOs), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and other healthcare systems. * Deliver and utilize clinical, value, and outcomes evidence including observational research, comparative effectiveness, and pharmacoeconomic data to address customer needs. * Conduct payer/formulary committee scientific presentations and lead discussions about Vera's products for assigned national and regional managed care accounts and health systems. * Collaborate with population HCDMs within an assigned geographic "healthcare ecosystem" to understand and address their information needs. * Serve as a knowledgeable resource for customers and internal partners on relevant disease states; therapeutic landscapes; HEOR/RWE; value-based care; the payer perspective; and value assessment. * Apply knowledge of clinical, analytic, environmental, and account-level considerations to facilitate mutually beneficial research collaborations. * Stay abreast of emerging science, environmental trends, healthcare policy, and regulatory actions relevant to value-based decision-makers. * Develop and execute the medical/HEOR strategy collaborating with internal and field-based medical and commercial partners to deliver exceptional customer experiences. * Share customer insights, evidence gaps, environmental trends, and stakeholder evidence needs internally to influence evidence generation and other strategic efforts. * Provide scientific support for HEOR internal stakeholders, consultants, and advisory board activities as needed. * Facilitate HEOR data generation and collaboration opportunities for pipeline products and current treatments to support the lifecycle of Vera's products. * Support the Field Medical Affairs team with training, development of testimonies, and other resources, as assigned. * Support regional and national managed care/healthcare systems congresses as needed. * Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information from market access personnel in a timely manner and ensure all account scientific exchange needs are met from a clinical, medical education, health outcomes, and compliance perspective. Qualifications: * Advanced degree (PharmD, MD, PhD, MS, MSN, MPH) in a scientific or health related field with relevant experience in health science or health outcomes OR Bachelor's degree in a scientific or health related field with 5+ years of experience in health science or health outcomes. * Deep understanding of the US healthcare system, value-based decision makers, and their evidence needs. * Ability to analyze and effectively communicate study findings on a range of clinical and HEOR topics including real-world data analysis and interpretation. * Strong comprehension and communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to translate and present complex scientific information in a clear, concise manner. * Experience working with or supporting value-based decision makers. * Demonstrated understanding of pharmacoeconomic and health outcomes research principles is strongly preferred. * Solid working knowledge of the US healthcare ecosystems and payer landscape, including possession of the business acumen necessary for patient access. * Possess a willingness and ability to work hands-on and with a sense of urgency, in a fast-paced, scientific, entrepreneurial environment. * Solid working knowledge of regulatory and compliance environment. * Professional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of audiences. * Have a thorough understanding of the Pharmaceutical Industries' compliance requirements along with applicable PhRMA Codes, OIG guidelines, FDA related laws, and regulations. * Computer proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe. * Ability to travel up to 75%. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $254,000 - $286,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geography, qualifications, skills, and experience. At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
