Position Summary

McCain is hiring a Health & Safety Intern to join us for the Summer of 2025. The position would start in May 2025 and work through August.

 

This position will be based onsite at our Othello, WA site.

The successful candidate will report to the Health & Safety Manager and partner closely with the Health & Safety, Training, and Production Teams and business leaders. This position is vital in supporting the implementation of our Risk Assessment and Digital Equipment Program. It will also provide front-line Support to our teams to plan, develop, implement, and train the new health and safety processes. This internship will support the improvement of our safety hazard identification and overall ownership of the safety programs and safety culture.

What You Will Be Working On

Implementation of our Risk Assessment and Digital Equipment ProgramParticipate in the planning, development, implementation, and training of the new health and safety processes for our teamsSupport the improvement of our safety hazard identification and overall ownership of the safety programs and safety culture.Ergonomic evaluations and how to incorporate these into the assessment process, utilizing AI to reduce risk 

 

What You Will Learn

Health & Safety Project Implementation experience and how to collaborate with key business stakeholdersGain insight into industrial manufacturing for Health & Safety Risk Identification, LOTO Processes and Procedures, and Digital Processes for operations.

 

What You Need to Be Successful

Enrolled in a University/College program, ideally focusing on Health and Safety/ Occupational Safety with an accredited institution. Results-orientated team player with demonstrated prioritization skills and problem-solving abilities.Tact and diplomacy - ensure professionalism when dealing with internal customers and outside vendors - the ability to build strong relationships.Proficiency in MS Office products.Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organizational skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Target Compensation Range

Salary Range: $48,000.00 - 52,000.00

 

The above reflects the target compensation range for the position at the time of posting. The exact compensation will be determined within the range based on education/training, skill set, experience, and other organizational needs.

While this internship does not provide benefits, our permanent positions do include the following benefits for full-time employees starting on day one: medical, dental, and vision insurance.  Other benefits include:
