Safety Manager

We are searching for a Safety Manager, to play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our team members for our Aftermath Brand.  Reporting to the VP. Training & Development, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a robust health and safety program tailored to our unique biohazard remediation operations.

 

What you will do:

Create, expand, and maintain health and safety policies, programs, procedures, and protocols to guide the safe execution of biohazard remediation tasks.Establish training programs and initiatives to ensure all employees are well-informed and proficient in safety practices, including proper handling of hazardous materials, emergency preparedness, and personal protective equipment (PPE).Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local regulations related to biohazardous materials and occupational health and safety.Manage safety reporting on various industry web portals.Perform annual and recurrent safety audits.Develop and implement response plan, incident reporting, and investigation procedures, including root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions/safety plans according to legal guidelines to prevent future incidents.Foster a culture of safety throughout the organization by preparing/enforcing policies and promoting safety awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement.Research and evaluates safety training resources.Ensure that all personnel follow safety programs, policies, procedures, and systems designed to mitigate the risk of safety incidents/accidents through auditing & reporting.Identify potential hazards and assess risks associated with biohazard remediation projects.Develop mitigation strategies to minimize exposure and harm.Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law.Ensure the company complies with Federal, State, and local Worker’s Compensation law.Oversee & manage the development and testing of emergency response plans, ensuring readiness for unforeseen incidents or disasters.Maintain open & clear communication channels with all levels of the organization to promote safety awareness and address safety concerns.Colloborate with HR and Operations to ensure safety initiatives align with operational needs.

 

 

 What you will bring:


Safety & OSHA-30 certifications.Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health &Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferredAbility to work independently as well as part of a team, who enjoys collaborating and partnering together.Must possess a positive attitude with the ability to build good relationships across the organization and with external partners.Ability to influence others across all levels of an organization.Sense of urgency, with the ability to meet goals and deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to multitask.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in which requirements and priorities change. Able to persevere in overcoming obstacles or setbacks, by taking swift and efficient action.Ability to effectively interface across all levels of the organization.Must be results oriented, a self-starter, and have strong initiative.Excellent analytical skills.Experience in managing/handling compliance issues, operations, OSHA/EPA/HAZWOPER programs, regulatory reviews, permit preparation, reporting and record keepingDemonstrate knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, and ability to learn additional technology software and programs.Must be able to do limited (~15%) travel to facilities or companies.
