Health & Safety Manager\n

Provide technical leadership and guidance to all departments regarding health and safety. Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one goal of the facility.\n

Essential Functions & Requirements: \n\nEnsure Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.\nConduct audits, evaluations and inspections (formal and informal) to ensure compliance with safety and health requirements and governmental regulations; recommends and monitors corrective actions.\nProvide technical assistance to assist Company managers in controlling losses from injuries, liabilities and property losses; develops policies and procedures to ensure compliance with new standards and safety practices.\nCo-Manage incident investigations with Environmental & Compliance Manager; assists when appropriate; ensures completion of necessary paperwork.\nRepresent the Company with OSHA, and other regulatory officials as requested.\nAssist in the development of HTS EHS budget and monitors budget for assigned areas.\nOversee the operation of the facility for conformance with Health and Safety regulations.\nMaintain adequate supplies of PPE for the activities being performed, and monitor PPE usage by employees, temporary workers, and contractors. \nAssist in effective responses to emergency situations, including accompanying employee to healthcare facility if necessary (all shifts), perform timely notification of reportable incidents, response actions, removal of residues, and documentation efforts. \nMaintain statistical safety information such as recordable and lost time injury rates and maintain OSHA logs.\nAssist management in the performance and completion of process hazard evaluations, and in the completion of HAZOP and audit action items.\nServe as technical resource and mentor for facility employees associated with Health & Safety matters.\nRepresent the company as part of regulatory inquiries, regulatory inspections, and customer audits.\nResponsible for Site Security Plan, contracted security workers and facility badging system\n\n

Education:\n\nBachelor's Degree in Safety, Science, or Engineering\n\n

Experience: \n\nMinimum 8 - 10 years' experience working in health and safety for a chemical-based manufacturing or waste treatment organization.\n\n

Competencies: \n\nStrong abilities and experience with chemical safety \/ PSM required.\nExperience with explosives desired.\n\n
