Salary: $83,000 - $145,000

Focus: The Health & Safety Specialist is responsible for coordinating and conducting field assessments of environmental, health, and safety issues to ensure all operational activities are consistent with the needs of the location and requirements of governmental regulatory agencies. This role will perform complex assignments often requiring development of unique solutions to environmental, health and safety problems due to the variables involved.  The Health & Safety Specialist will also provide technical Environmental, Health & Safety coaching and expertise to the broader organization.


Health & Safety Specialist Essential Job Functions:

Working within corporate/division strategies and policy frameworks, designs, proposes and implements health, safety, process safety and environmental guidelines and procedures to meet Environmental, Health & Safety requirements supporting short and long-term business needs and consistent with the Environmental, Health & Safety Risk of Plaquemine, LA Provides targeted assistance to support site and organizational Environmental, Health & Safety action plans, collaborating with employees and supervisors to identify and correct potential environmental, safety, security, and health hazards Participates in plant audits and interfaces with internal and external auditors and regulatory and government agency personnel Investigates accidents or problem areas (manufacturing, logistics, etc.) and recommends future preventive measures Provides technical EHS expertise and coaching to facilitate broad accountability of the EHS process Health & Safety Specialist Minimum Requirements: Must meet one of the following education and experience requirements: High school diploma or equivalent with minimum of 10 years related Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment; OR Bachelor's Degree* with minimum of 5 years of related Environmental, Health & Safety experience in a manufacturing environment. Degree in an Environmental, Safety or related discipline preferred. Prior chemical industry experience preferred Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred  Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license
