Health & Safety Specialist

Job Purpose

Implement safety programs aimed at preventing and eliminating risks, complying with legal requirements in terms of safety and health, as well as corporate policies and procedures on the matter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1- Implement compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in matters of safety, health, civil protection and corporate matters.

2- Execute and update risk analyses, as well as the implementation and leadership of action plans for their elimination and/or control.

3- Implementation and Leadership of the accident and incident investigation process, as well as the resulting action plans.

4- Promote compliance with the blood lead policy, as well as support for its implementation.

5- Implementation and leadership of safety  improvement actions.

6- Attention to inspections and follow-up with authorities in matters of safety, health and civil protection.

7- Monitoring and updating of local and corporate health, safety and hygiene indicators.

8- Leadership and monitoring of the work of the safety and hygiene committee.

9- Design and monitoring of training plans on safety, health and civil protection.

 10- Design and monitoring of the Safety Program as well as campaigns to reduce accidents and eliminate risks.

11- Monitoring and control of area expenditure.

Education and/or Experience

BS in Engineering/Technology/Business, an Environmental Specialist must have skills and knowledge in the following areas:

Knowledge of Environmental Science and Technology. Technical and environmental aspects of facility operation. A relevant requirement of environmental laws, regulations and related documents. Environmental management systems and standards including audit procedures, processes and techniques. General Job Requirements This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
