The Basics:
As a Health & Safety Specialist, you will report to the Safety & Security Programs Manager and be a part of a team of global health, safety and security professionals supporting Tanium’s duty of care efforts at its leased offices and regionally. Using a variety of systems and tools at your assigned office, you will be a Safety Leader, carry out Health & Safety compliance tasks, Occupational Health, and Safety (OHS) training, certain Physical Security and Access Control duties, and support Tanium Events in your region as needed.
What you’ll do:
Be able to make real-time operational decisions that affect the safety and security of the company. Use discretion and good judgment in handling sensitive or confidential information. Be willing and able to adapt responsibilities to the evolving needs of the business as assigned by department leadership. Lead all health and safety operations at your assigned office. Serve as the office safety leader and Lead Floor Warden/Fire Marshall. Administer Monthly OHS New Joiner Training. Conduct monthly office assessments to ensure health and safety readiness, and compliance. Ensure all emergency equipment is properly maintained and serviceable. Maintain constant communication with the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). Maintain the secure perimeter by conducting door function checks, and periodic patrols. Enforce employee office access, and visitor/vendor guidelines. Facilitate access badge issuance via the GSOC for team members, vendors, and contractors. Monitor physical and electronic access control and video management systems for unauthorized entry into Tanium spaces. Support in-office events to ensure the safety and security of Tanium team members and assets. Travel as needed in support of regional Tanium Events to provide Health, Safety & Security incident management. Communicate specific safety and security training needs, ideas, scenarios, and trainee feedback and actively participate in required training. Formally document incidents within the office(s) and escalate those requiring leadership support.We’re looking for someone with:
Education
Must be conversational in English language and able to communicate and discuss technical matters concisely. Post Secondary Education preferred.Experience
Physical Security experience preferred. Specialty training or experience in Occupational Health & Safety, Global Security, Corporate Security, Risk Management, etc. Security Systems and Technology preferred. Valid National CPR/First Aid/AED or equivalent card preferred OSHA-10 or IOSH Managing Safely course completion preferred Prior experience using access control, video management Extensive experience in security, safety, incident response, crisis management, emergency management, and customer service Proven ability to analyze problems, create solutions, and communicate effectively Confidence in ability to work autonomously each shift and during incident or crisis situations as they occur Highly proficient written skills for documenting incidents & reportingAdditional offering
