Summary About the Position: This position is located in San Antonio, TX or Falls Church, Virginia or Lacey, Washington. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Responsibilities Serves as a Senior Healthcare Business Analyst within DHA’s Financial Operations Directorate, Business Integration Division, Healthcare Delivery Branch. Elicits, analyzes, validates, and documents business, organizational and/or operational requirements to support the business needs of stakeholders including the Defense Health Agency (DHA), the Department of the Army, Air Force and Navy. Provides or oversees healthcare analysis in support of senior level working groups involved in a variety of work associated with DHA strategic business and organizational planning, corporate metrics and benchmarking, and related projects. Uses specialized analytical, statistical, or visualization tools and software to provide analysis and display data in meaningful ways to facilitate the decision making process. Develops and conducts programs to educate analysts and leaders on data. Performs or oversees performance of statistical studies and complex retrievals of medical data for stakeholders at all levels from Defense Health Agency (DHA), the Department of Defense (DoD), other healthcare entities, and staff agencies. Basic Requirements: Health System Specialist GS-0671-14 Specialized Experience GS-14: One year of specialized experience which includes, accessing various medical or business intelligence data systems to view metrics, evaluating health system financial tools, and conducting research of clinic operations. Experience utilizing analytical, statistical, and visualization tools or software to communicate and develop executive-level briefings, providing recommendations for policies, and conducting programs to educate leadership. Knowledge of programming languages such as SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and automation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to Detail Customer Service Decision Making Time in Grade Requirement for GS-14: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees.
