Summary About the Position:This position is location in San Antonio, Texas with the Defense Health Agency Central Network. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. Responsibilities Conducts process improvement studies of Military Treatment Facilities' health services delivery systems and operations within the Defense Health Network (DHN). Consults on health system program analysis and evaluation. Analyzes performance relating to improvement efforts in areas such as quality of service, access to inpatient and outpatient care, and efficiency of services. Assists in developing system-wide process improvement initiative/project plans. Provides recommendations for standardizing specific processes. Formulates actionable proposals based on the results of performance analysis and conclusions. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) analyzing healthcare operations or processes to identify deficiencies; 2) advising on complex healthcare delivery issues, such as manpower, cost analysis, quality improvement, or business case analysis; AND 3) developing healthcare optimization or operations processes. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
