Health Unit Coordinator or CNA

 

Position Summary:

Performs duties as a Health Unit Coordinator and as a CNA. Responsible for providing secretarial support for all employees.

 

Responsibilities:

Maintains and updates patients' records Performs various direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse Assists patients in dressing or undressing, bathing, or eating Collects non-invasive body fluid specimens or gathers vital signs but does not start or administer intravenous fluids Assists physicians and nursing staff with procedures if needed Documents patient interactions as needed Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job Works under immediate supervision Performs other related duties as assigned Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned  

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified preferred Knowledge of spelling and medical terminology preferred BLS Required.  Current AHA Healthcare provider, American Red Cross, AHA Health Saver or KH BLS during General Orientation  

Working Conditions:

Must be able to maintain a standing and/or sitting position Typical equipment used in a clinical job Must be able to lift or move up to 35 lbs Must be able to reach arms above or below shoulder height
