Position Summary:
Manage the planning and administration of the construction and delivery of hospital space in relation to organizational efficiency and availability of facilities and funds. Provide project management for new construction and remodel requests to include contract preparation, on-site coordination, quality control, signage, requisite planning and procurement, and related facility functions. Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures. No patient care assignment.
Detailed responsibilities:
* DEVELOPMENT - Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reading current literature, attending in-services, meetings and workshops
* INSPECT - Inspect buildings and office areas to evaluate suitability for occupancy considering such factors as air circulation, lighting, location, and size
* DESIGN - Participate in planning and formulating design alternatives and solutions for construction projects; provide conceptual estimates, feasibility studies, and cost estimates; may coordinate production of basic design plans and construction documents
* DESIGN - Review and interpret proposed designs, architectural drawings, and building specifications for appropriateness to required fruition and/or institutional standard; initiate revisions where appropriate
* DESIGN - Coordinate design review with department managers including the plan of construction, equipment and furniture specifications
* COMPLIANCE - Ensure project operations are in compliance with design specifications and University, state, and federal policies and regulations
* PURCHASING - Prepare purchase requisitions for proper authorization and approve contractor invoices for payment within the approved budget
* SIGNAGE - Prepare appropriate signage for remodeled areas to ensure continuity with the existing system
* REPORTS - Research and prepare various reports pertaining to operations, equipment, policies, procedures, and/or other issues as appropriate
* ARCHITECTURE - Serve as a consultant on architectural matters, including code regulations, special needs accessibility, and fire safety considerations
* SPECIFICATIONS - Develop detailed specifications for smaller construction projects as necessary and assist in developing specifications for major construction projects
* CONSTRUCTION - Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day management of construction projects; monitor and coordinate work performed by architectural, engineering, and construction firms
* CONSTRUCTION - Provide construction administration or construction oversight, monitoring site safety procedures and quality of work, resolving and reporting any issues immediately
* BUDGET - Develop and administer the division's annual budget; monitor and approve expenditures
