Healthcare Strategy and Corporate Development Intern/Co-op – Summer 2025

This Healthcare Strategy and Corporate Development intern/co-op’s role primary objective will be to analyze external market trends and internal business needs for a priority health area to identify, scope, and prioritize opportunity areas for Manulife Group Benefits, and identify, vet, and recommend a partnership strategy and value case. 

 

Position Responsibilities:  

External and internal analysis will be conducted to identify, qualify, and vet potential partnership opportunities in specific domains with a focus on prioritized health areas. 

External analysis includes market research, industry trends, unmet needs, competitive analysis, and ecosystem scan of potential players to identify trends, opportunities, and prospective partners. 

Internal analysis will include data analysis, cross-team workshops to understand current offering strengths and weaknesses, cross-product health journey insights, sponsor, member, and colleague insights and feedback, to create a shared vision for a partnership strategy for the health area. 

Produce a comprehensive strategic report including market trends, insights analysis, and recommendations. 

Findings will be presented to the Product & Platforms team. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

Currently pursuing a master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Health Administration, or a related field 

Advanced Excel skills (including financial modeling forecasting, value case, use scenario and sensitivity analyses).

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. 

Comfortable with ambiguity / incomplete data. 

Understanding of the digital health market including B2B business models. 

Experience / understanding of insurance and group benefits industry an asset.

Salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
