Summary
SUMMARY: Job Summary: HealthPATH is a career development program of Alameda Health System that provides internships and other work-based learning experiences to under-represented youth and young adults in Alameda County. The HealthPATH Internship Coordinator oversees HealthPATH’s HEAL after-school internship program and provides administrative and logistical support for other HealthPATH internships. The Internship Coordinator leads health career internships for high school students, including delivery of program curriculum and daily supervision of interns. They also provide operational support for HealthPATH internships, including outreach to schools, managing the application process, on-boarding, and student tracking.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE: The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification. However, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification.
1. Daily supervision of high school interns enrolled in the HEAL after-school internship program.
2. Deliver instructional curriculum on health career exploration, professionalism, and other topics.
3. Work with youth to support their success in the HEAL after-school internship program.
4. Assist HealthPATH managers with curriculum design and development.
5. Administer intern application and intake process.
6. Oversee logistics and prepare materials for parent and intern orientations.
7. Process health clearances for interns.
8. Prepare instructional materials for internship programs.
9. Oversee administrative arrangements for intern programs, including room reservations, Audio/Visual equipment, Environmental Services Forms, IT requests, catering, etc.
10. Perform data entry into HealthPATH database.
11. Track student attendance and oversee record-keeping for internship programs.
12. Answer phones as needed.
13. Inventory, order, and manage office supplies.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
Preferred Education: Degree in education, community development, or other health related field preferred.
Preferred Experience: Two-three years in non-profit or public sector program administration; Classroom teaching or direct service experience working with youth.
