Ideal candidate will reside in Bakersfield, CA or surrounding communities.
Under routine supervision, defends workers' compensation cases at Appeals Board, attends hearings, takes depositions, prepares pleadings, and files reports.
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Defends workers' compensation cases at Appeals Board. Takes depositions and files reports. Attends hearings or conferences and files reports. Prepares appropriate pleadings. Gives advice and recommendations on case handling to the Claims Department. Works productively and harmoniously with others on a consistent basis. Responds positively to direction and criticism of performance. Consistently maintains professional and appropriate demeanor. Performs other job related duties as assigned.Education Qualifications
High School Diploma Or equivalent required Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of training/experience preferredExperience Qualifications
5+ Years experience in the handling and adjustment of workers' compensation claims requiredSkills and Abilities
Good communication skills., Ability to lift legal files, including documents and exhibits, up to a weight of 15 pounds. Must be willing and able to travel extensively using all means of public transportation, as well as, capable of prolonged automobile driving, in excess of three hours a day, to widely dispersed venues. Valid California Driver's License in good standing.
The expected salary range for this position is$75,083.89 to $93,854.86. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
