Responsibilities to Anticipate: 

Must be experienced in performing any plumbing, electrical or other functions necessary to complete overhaul of HVAC equipment. 

Works from blueprints, schematics, manufacturing manuals, engineering specifications, sketches, ordinances, code requirements and oral or written instructions. 

Installs air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation and heating systems and equipment, excluding ductwork. 

Troubleshoots and diagnoses the malfunction within a HVAC system and makes all necessary repair or overhaul. 

Balances, calibrates, adjusts and modifies HVAC systems and equipment following installation, overhaul or repair. 

Performs any plumbing, electrical or other function necessary to complete overhaul or repair assignment, on the equipment side, from the main domestic water or gas valve and the main electrical disconnect switch. Electrical installation and maintenance from disconnect limited to 480 volts and below, and conduit runs limited up to 5 feet of flexible conduit outside of unit. Plumbing limited to within unit only. Does all refrigerant lines. 

Uses oxyacetylene to perform HVACR work but, shall not use these units to weld or cut. 

Performs periodic inspections to ascertain proper temperature and humidity readings. Calibrates and adjusts air flow and balance system. 

Performs preventative maintenance (P.M.s), as required. 

Maintains log of operating data in accordance with prescribed procedures. 

Makes material take-off list in their own craft. When need arises, orders material or parts directly from vendor which includes using on-line system, or physically writing of purchase requisitions. Orders parts and materials from plant site stores. 

Must have experience in electrical, pneumatic, and electronics controls. 

 

Qualifications You Must Have: 

High School Diploma or Equivalency (GED). 

Must be able to work any designated shift to include overnight. 

Four (4) years (within the last 10 years) of experience in industrial HVAC

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. secret clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 

The ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.

This position is part of a collective bargaining agreement.  Wage and work place conditions, including shift times, are subject to this agreement.  Individuals hired into this position will be represented by a union.
