Responsibilities You will perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of a variety of domestic heating equipment and systems, such as heating boilers, hot water tanks, and other systems with similar heat sources, controls and circulating methods. You will replace defective burners, switches, fuel lines and cutoff assemblies. You will visually examine and operationally test electric, electronic, pneumatic and mechanical systems. You will service units by cleaning filters, strainers, orifices and ignition electrods and by adjusting dampers. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to perform the work of a Heating Equipment Repairer WG-5309-08 without more than normal supervision as demonstrated by performing common tasks including 1) Installing, maintaining and repairing domestic heating equipment and systems such as heating boilers and hot water tanks; 2) Servicing domestic heating equipment and systems by cleaning filters, strainers, orifices and ignition electrodes and adjusting dampers; 3) Following work orders and instructions including blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings or written specifications.
