Tessera is seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This high-impact role involves working with powerful machinery—including bulldozers, cranes, generators, and more—to ensure mission-critical operations run smoothly. You'll perform diagnostics, repairs, overhauls, and routine maintenance while following technical standards and contributing to the operational readiness of USAFA. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
Perform maintenance and repairs on wheeled and tracked vehicles, engineering equipment, power generation units, and material handling systems.Conduct minor services and inspections following technical manuals and scheduled maintenance protocols.Diagnose and repair mechanical systems including brakes, suspension, steering, and hydraulic components using schematics and diagnostic tools.Execute major repairs involving disassembly, cleaning, replacement, and reassembly of complex equipment components.Maintain accurate maintenance schedules and submit required documentation such as timekeeping records, accident reports, and evaluations.Demonstrate professionalism in appearance and conduct while supporting USAFA operations and representing Tessera.Qualifications:
3 years minimum of hands-on experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repairProficient in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy equipment including wheeled and tracked vehicles, power generation systems, and material handling machineryAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, lube orders, and wiring diagramsSkilled in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems troubleshootingFamiliarity with OSHA safety standards and Air Force maintenance protocolsPrior experience supporting military installations or government contracts strongly preferredExperience with diagnostic tools, hoists, and specialized equipment used in heavy machinery repairExperience maintaining maintenance schedules and completing required documentation accuratelyCDL Class A preferredPhysical Requirements:
