**Heavy Equipment Mechanic** **Job Description** The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining large construction machinery, such as excavators, bulldozers, graders, cranes, and loaders. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic issues, replacing worn parts, performing routine maintenance checks, and making necessary adjustments to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. This position often requires the ability to read blueprints, utilize specialized tools, and travel to job sites to service equipment in the field. **Responsibilities** + Inspect and diagnose issues with large construction machinery, including excavators, bulldozers, graders, cranes, and loaders. + Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues. + Replace worn parts and perform routine maintenance checks. + Make necessary adjustments to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. + Read blueprints and utilize specialized tools. + Travel to job sites to service equipment in the field. **Essential Skills** + Experience working with large construction earth-moving equipment. + Mechanical experience. + Experience with hydraulics, including minor repairs with fluid, hoses, and pumps. + Experience with diesel engines. + Ability to work with excavators. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Welding experience. + Military mechanic experience. + Trade school certifications. + Preferred: 3+ years experience in the mechanical field. **Why Work Here?** This is a long-term position where you will have access to medical, dental, and vision benefits. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
