Heavy Equipment Mechanic PST Job ID #: 29896 Location: FL-TAMPA Functional Area: Misc./Trades Position Type: Full Time Experience Required: 1 - 3 Years Relocation Provided: No Education Required: GED RC/Department: 6422 -L.RIVER PORT SUTTON TERMINAL :BTLC5 Position Description Position Description Essential duties and responsibilities: + Reads job repair orders and performs the diagnosis of routine maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance inspections, and troubleshooting of systems (i.e. hydraulic, electronic, mechanical, A/C). + Plan work procedures to repair vehicles and heavy equipment + Installs new ignition systems, changes or recharges batteries, replaces transmissions or related parts, and overhauls gas and diesel engines. + Examines protective guards and makes adjustments to safety devices on trucks and heavy equipment. + Lubricates moving parts and drives + Perform preventative maintenance per KM standards + Focus on customer service and adherence to safety and environmental policies and procedures. + Maintains conveyors + Building maintenance duties as assigned + All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management. Position Requirements Position Requirements + 1+ years of mechanical experience on light and heavy equipment or facility maintenance + Gasoline & diesel vehicle experience preferred + Must be able to demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitude + Operational knowledge of diesel equipment and tools associated with troubleshooting and repair of equipment + Troubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on various types of equipment/vehicles + Perform preventative maintenance in fleet + Knowledge of D.O.T. and FMCSA guidelines + Strong communication and teamwork skills + Medium duty truck experience preferred + Strong work ethic and dependable character + Must be at least 18 years of age + Must possess valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with KM's insurance standards + Have a steady employment history + Successful completion of company background check and drug screen up on offer + Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card as issued by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) + ASE Certifications are a plus + Must be willing and able to work any shift At Kinder Morgan we offer competitive wages, 401(k) savings plan, retirement plan, comprehensive medical/RX, dental, life and disability insurance.
