Essential duties and responsibilities:

Reads job repair orders and performs the diagnosis of routine maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance inspections, and troubleshooting of systems (i.e. hydraulic, electronic, mechanical, A/C).Plan work procedures to repair vehicles and heavy equipmentInstalls new ignition systems, changes or recharges batteries, replaces transmissions or related parts, and overhauls gas and diesel engines.Examines protective guards and makes adjustments to safety devices on trucks and heavy equipment.Lubricates moving parts and drivesPerform preventative maintenance per KM standardsFocus on customer service and adherence to safety and environmental policies and procedures.Maintains conveyorsBuilding maintenance duties as assignedAll other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Position Requirements

1+ years of mechanical experience on light and heavy equipment or facility maintenance Gasoline & diesel vehicle experience preferredMust be able to demonstrate mechanical and technical aptitudeOperational knowledge of diesel equipment and tools associated with troubleshooting and repair of equipmentTroubleshoot, diagnose, and complete repairs on various types of equipment/vehiclesPerform preventative maintenance in fleetKnowledge of D.O.T. and FMCSA guidelinesStrong communication and teamwork skillsMedium duty truck experience preferredStrong work ethic and dependable characterMust be at least 18 years of ageMust possess valid driver's license and acceptable driving record in accordance with KM's insurance standardsHave a steady employment historySuccessful completion of company background check and drug screen up on offerAbility to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card as issued by Transportation Security Administration (TSA)ASE Certifications are a plusMust be willing and able to work any shiftAt Kinder Morgan we offer competitive wages, 401(k) savings plan, retirement plan, comprehensive medical/RX, dental, life and disability insurance.
