Job Description SummaryThe Operations Support B/Vehicle Operator must be willing to perform work in a team environment – adhering to all attendance and safety rules, regulations & equipment requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Participate in a team of 4 operating an outdoor gantry crane to move large turbine parts for assembly and shipment. This includes crane operation and rigging.Participate in getting materials staged and supplied to operations utilizing large forktrucks. This may include cleaning of materials.Follow EHS compliance for turbine material handling.Assist in implementation of documentation and process improvementsMaintain manual and/or computerized recordsMay also be required to do the following:Assist in truck inspections of all materials being received and shipped.Move material/product using cranes (Level 1) and other approved material movement equipment to perform work tasks such as fork trucksUnload and prepare parts/product for shipmentProvide on-the-job training to other personnel as needed. Complete other daily housekeeping functions including 5s and parts kitting.Physical demands of the position may include: Constant standing; frequently handling various parts for assembly; frequent walking, reaching at waist level, pushing/pulling, grasping/squeezing, pinching, fine motor dexterity, neck flexion, and using air tools; occasionally sitting, reaching overhead, reaching at shoulder level, reaching at knee and floor level, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, crawling, ladder/stair climbing, pivoting, twisting, neck extension/rotation, and handling and lifting of parts and/or equipmentMust Adhere to and follow all safety procedures, i.e., lock-out/tag-out, report safety concerns, use appropriate PPE as required, and follow similar safety practicesAbility to work in a loud/noisy environmentThe factories are not climate controlled – conditions can be hot or coldAbility to work outside in all elements year round.Flexibility to switching between various assignments as required

Qualifications/Requirements

High School Diploma/GED1 year of work experienceAbility and willingness to lift up to 40 poundsClass B License or Level 1 Crane Experience

Desired Characteristics

Prior manufacturing warehouse or industrial assembly experienceKnowledge of safe shop operation practicesAbility to identify maintenance issues with machinery or equipmentFocus and understanding of LEANAbility and willingness to work overtimeExperience with gantry cranes a plus.
