Murrey’s Disposal, a Waste Connections Company, has an immediate opening for an Equipment Operator at our Transfer Station in Fife, WA.
In this hands-on role, you’ll operate a variety of equipment to help keep the transfer station running smoothly. You’ll play a key part in moving waste and supporting daily operations, all while working outdoors in a fast-paced environment. Pay and Schedule:
Monday through Friday, with workdays starting between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM, and shifts typically lasting 9 to 11 hours. Applicants must be willing to work overtime as neededStarting pays $25.00 – $26.00 per hourResponsibilities:
Safely operate a Grizzly excavator, skid steer, yard goat for hosteling trailers, and forkliftAssist in unloading and loading materialsPerform regular equipment inspections to ensure safe operation and maintenanceManage traffic flow, directing vehicles in a safe and orderly mannerPerform general site maintenance, including cleaning up debris, ensuring the area is safe and organizedMaintain and repair minor equipment issues as neededMonitor the transfer station area for potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulationsCoordinate with team members to prioritize tasks and support daily operationsKeep accurate records of equipment usage, site conditions, and any incidents or issuesProvide excellent customer service when interacting with truck drivers and other staffThe Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Prior heavy equipment experienceAbility to routinely lift 50 pounds unassistedAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditionsA strong commitment to safety and attention to detailGood communication skills and the ability to work with a teamMust be able to communicate in English for safety purposes; Spanish-speaking skills are a plusMust be able to work in environments with dust, loud noises, odors, and other conditions commonly found at a transfer stationSAFETY SENSITIVE: YESTo be considered for any of our current openings, you must complete an application at www.careers.wasteconnections.com.
