Heavy Equipment Operator

As a heavy equipment operator, you will have the opportunity to become a dedicated contributor to our oil sands mining operations operating ultra class haul trucks.

Minimum Requirements

At least 6 months' experience with operating equipment (haul trucks, wiggle wagon, dozers, graders, excavators) in industries such as mining, civil earthworks, pipelines, sawmills, pulp and paper mills or manufacturing, or highway construction.

A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or Canadian Adult Educational Credential (CAEC) or 10+ years of work experience.

A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities:

Be a positive contributor to building safety culture.

Complete walk-arounds, safety checks and field level risk assessments

Follow our operating standards and procedures.

Operate various makes and models of haul trucks.

Report all incidents, damage and near misses immediately.

Communicate updates to your supervisor to ensure that you meet all goals and objectives.

Location and other Key Details:

You will work out of our Base Plant Mine in Fort McMurray.

The shift schedule is a six days on/six days off rotation (three days on, three nights on, six days off; 12-hour shifts).

This is not a camp-based role.

This is a temporary assignment with a remaining duration of up to 2025, depending on business need.

This position is safety sensitive.
