Position OverviewAs a Heavy Equipment Operator you will safely operate our large equipment supporting our utility group. You will work with the Foreperson on the safe execution of work for a number of our clients. In this role you will be required to travel to multiple sites across a region; as a result frequent overnight stays will be required.
Job Duties Operation of Hydro Axe, Excavator and/or Skid Steer, Mulcher. Conduct vehicle and equipment checks prior to operation. Assistance in loading/unloading equipment at different work locations. Groundwork support for trimming operations; chainsaw use, chipping / loading brush. Assist the Trimmers and Foreman in job site setup, debris removal, cleanup, and equipment maintenance. Willing and able to temporarily move locations as contract progresses. Qualifications Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement considered an asset. 3 years’ experience with excavators, mulchers or front-end loaders. General landscaping experience. Experience with chainsaw and chipping operations. Positive attitude and work ethic, willingness to learn and progress. Ability to work safely, as part of crew team. Bondable with no prior criminal record. Additional Information Full time. Year-round employment. Mostly rural locations. Daily Per Diem. Hotel expenses covered while on assignment.
