Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Reclaimer/Pulverizer Mixer Operator to join our highway construction team. This position is responsible for operating a reclaimer or pulverizer to break up, mix, and stabilize roadway materials for highway and road construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with heavy equipment operation, a strong understanding of soil stabilization techniques, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Essential Functions
Operate a reclaimer/pulverizer to grind and mix asphalt, base materials, and soil for roadway preparation. Adjust and control equipment settings to ensure proper depth, mixing, and material consistency. Work closely with the site supervisor, engineers, and other operators to ensure project specifications are met. Conduct routine equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and minor repairs to prevent breakdowns. Follow all safety regulations and company procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate workflow and ensure efficiency. Assist with other construction duties as needed, including grading, compacting, and general site preparation.This job summary is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position. Required Skills & Experience
Experience: Minimum of 2+ years operating a reclaimer/pulverizer or similar heavy equipment on highway or road construction projects. Licenses/Certifications: CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is preferred but not required. Heavy Equipment Operator Certification is a plus. Skills: Proficiency in operating and maintaining heavy machinery. Understanding of soil stabilization and asphalt recycling processes. Ability to read and follow construction plans, grades, and specifications. Strong commitment to workplace safety. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in outdoor environments (including extreme heat), lift up to 50 lbs, and stand for long periods.
