Summary This job opportunity is for an HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, position description D03469000, within the 108 Logistics Readiness Squadron of the New Jersey Air National Guard. This vacancy announcement is a Title 32, Excepted Service position. The purpose of this position is to serve as shop chief over a small organizational segment in a maintenance function with responsibility for the overall shop operation. Responsibilities As an HEAVY MOBILE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC, WG-5803-11, you will: Plan and lay out work to be accomplished in the shop which is then completed by the technician and lower graded mechanic(s). Perform the full range of shop work. Implement safety regulatory requirements. Prepare for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership.
