Heavy Press Operator
**Job Title: Day Shift - Heavy Press Operator - Starting at $20/hr!** **Job Description** This role involves production work in a forging shop. You will be responsible for operating a hydraulic press to form steel into pieces. The job includes lifting hot steel with tongs up to 30 lbs in and out of the press machine, visually inspecting parts, and being trained on multiple positions to serve as a utility worker. This is a physically demanding job. **Responsibilities** + Operate hydraulic press to form steel pieces. + Lift hot steel with tongs up to 30 lbs. + Visually inspect parts for quality. + Train on multiple positions and rotate through them as needed. + Ensure safe operation of machinery and adherence to safety protocols. **Essential Skills** + Experience in press operation. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. + At least 9 months of manufacturing experience. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Prior press operation experience. + Willingness to learn new positions. + Good job tenure in manufacturing. + Experience in concrete or construction work is a plus due to the physical and heavy nature of the job. **Why Work Here?** We are 100% employee-owned, offering an ESOP and dividend profit sharing. PPE is required, including hard hats, safety glasses, steel-toe shoes with metatarsal protection, and earplugs. Some positions may also require a face shield and double ear protection. The current shift runs from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work based on production needs. Longer shifts during the week are currently being used to avoid weekend overtime. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, Ohio. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
