Help Desk Coordinator
Adecco is assisting our client in recruiting for a Help Desk Coordinator position in Milton, VT. The Help Desk Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of computer systems. This includes receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and resolving end-user requests to ensure smooth computer operations that enable business activities. Problem-solving may involve diagnostic tools, help request tracking, and in-person assistance. **Key Responsibilities:** + Receive and respond to help requests from end users via phone, email, or ticketing system. + Document user details (name, department, contact info, issue) in support tickets. + Track and document the problem-solving process, including decisions and actions. + Install, repair, and troubleshoot client devices. + Utilize diagnostic tools for troubleshooting. + Access online resources (software updates, FAQs) to aid in problem resolution. + Learn and support organizational hardware and software. + Test fixes to ensure problem resolution and conduct post-resolution follow-ups. + Analyze trends in documented resolutions to prevent future issues. + Prioritize and schedule support requests. + Set up equipment, including installation of operating systems, cables, and software. + Collaborate with staff to assess new system needs or modifications. + Perform daily computer operations as required. **Competencies:** + **Problem Solving:** Able to identify and resolve issues promptly, with well-analyzed alternative solutions. + **Technical Skills:** Seeks training and development to improve skills. + **Customer Service:** Addresses customer needs promptly, seeks feedback, and ensures commitments are met. + **Initiative:** Takes responsibility, looks for opportunities, and offers help when necessary. **Additional Skills:** + **Basic Networking:** Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), firewalls, and VPN setup. + **Active Directory:** Experience with managing users, groups, and permissions in Active Directory. + **Remote Support Tools:** Proficient in using remote desktop tools such as TeamViewer, Webex, or Windows Remote Desktop. + **Cybersecurity Awareness:** Basic understanding of security best practices, including password management, malware detection, and data encryption. + **Backup and Recovery:** Experience with data backup solutions and recovery procedures. + **Scripting:** Familiarity with basic scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) to automate routine tasks. + **Virtualization:** Basic knowledge of virtual environments like VMware or Hyper-V. + **Mobile Device Management (MDM):** Experience managing mobile devices through MDM solutions. + **Cloud Services:** Familiarity with cloud services like Office 365, Google Workspace, or AWS. + **ITIL Knowledge:** Understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and frameworks such as ITIL. **Qualifications:** + **Education/Experience:** Associate's degree or equivalent from a technical school, plus 6 months to 1 year of related experience. + **Certifications (Preferred):** CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Fundamentals, or ITIL Foundations. **Required Computer Skills:** + PC Architecture + Microsoft Office, Windows + Android & iOS + HP & Zebra Printers + Wireless Networking, Subnetting, Routing + Networking Protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) + Active Directory + Remote Support Tools + Cloud Platforms (Office 365, Google Workspace) **Physical Demands:** + Regular use of hands, standing, walking, and sitting. + Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb ladders. + Must be able to lift/move up to 65 pounds.
