Help Desk Specialist I

Responsible to the help desk manager for the support of computer hardware, network and communications equipment, operating systems, and applications. The role is to ensure proper computer operation so that end users can accomplish tasks supportive of the mission of Holzer Health System. Works with Logistics Coordinator to maintain an up-to-date inventory of all Information Technology (IT) equipment. Participates in special projects as assigned.
Education, Work Experience and Licensure: 1. Associates degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 2. In lieu of degree, 2 years of relevant work experience or technical/vocational certifications may be substituted. 3. Experience with desktop operating systems, especially Microsoft Windows. 4. Good organizational skills. 5. Self-motivated with initiative. 6. Solid communication skills; effectively communicate in both oral and written form. 7. Able to build strong work relationship with customers and teammates. 8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 9. Capable of working in a fast-paced team environment; able to meet strict deadlines. 10. Strong documentation skills. 11. Exceptional interpersonal skills, focused on rapport-building, listening and questioning skills. 12. Knowledge of basic computer hardware – PCs, monitors, printers, telephones, scanners, and barcode readers.
