Hershey Bears Fan Assistance Intern

The Hershey Bears Fan Assistance Intern will support the Guest Services and Game Day Operations teams by promoting hospitality to our internal and external guests. This role will support the operational needs of the Box Office through gaining knowledge in understanding the ticketing system, handling guest correspondences, proper telephone etiquette, and more. This position will work in multiple venues including Giant Center, Hershey Theatre, Hersheypark Stadium, and the Hersheypark Arena.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

Provide guest assistance as a Guest Service representative during Hershey Bears and Giant Center events. Answer general questions about operations or policies, refer questions or issues to the appropriate teams for resolution, provide directions to locations and services within the venue, etc.*

Act as a Ticketing Agent, including taking or selling tickets, processing and fulfilling orders, and supporting the sales team by answering group and season ticket questions.*

Fulfill and track complimentary ticket requests for home and away teams on game days. Assist the Season and Group Sales Managers in processing orders and fulfillment.*

Assist with pre-event preparations including the preparation of Suites, serve as a Premium Seating Concierge, and assist the Usher team as needed.

Assist with tracking labor costs and preparing Hershey Bears Game day reports, including sales reports to document merchandise redemptions.*

Assist with Meet and Greets for concerts by coordinating details with Ushers, Security, and Promoters, communicating with guests to answer questions about timing and locations, checking in guests during an event, and performing other event duties as needed.

Answer the Guest Services phone line and monitor the email inbox, including responding to correspondences and tracking guest communication in the Guest Relations Log.*

Assist with the tracking and documentation of various programs including Complimentary Tickets, Sweet Thank You, and Evaluations.*

Perform various other duties as assigned by Manager of Season and Premium Ticketing and full-time staff to understand operational standards and policies and ensure successful operations of HE&R’s various box office locations.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Completion of High School or GED.

Must be an undergraduate student currently enrolled in a Sports Management, Marketing, Sales, Communications, or related major. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must have strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.

Must possess a positive attitude and be able to handle guest concerns with ease and professionalism.

Ability to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Skilled in the use of computer software, including Microsoft and Google Suite applications.

Proficient working with details on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time.

Must display an eagerness to learn and ability to maintain a professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines.

The position is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.

The position is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

Must be able to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The length of this internship runs from September 2024-April 2025 based on the operational game and event season of the Entertainment Complex. The selected Candidate must be able to attend all Home Hershey Bears Games.

Housing is not being offered for this internship.
