We are now recruiting for Class 1 Drivers to join our team at Great Bear in Lutterworth on a full time and permanent basis.
Shift: Monday-Friday - Start window to be agreed between 00:01am-12:00pm.
Salary: £41,469 per annum plus overtime rate of £21.75 per hour after 55 hours or as an extra shift.
Job DescriptionThe role will include but not limited to the following:
Report to the Transport Coordinator at the start of shiftEnsure correct and thorough completion of paperworkObserve and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all aspects of health, safety and hygieneMaintain a good working knowledge of operations within the transport departmentMaintain a high standard of behaviour and appearanceEffectively manage own working time in line with the Road Transport DirectiveAdhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all timesEnsure daily vehicle checks are completed in line with company procedureResponsible for unit and trailer, including temperature checksMake deliveries to customers’ premises, acting in a professional manner at all timesImmediately report any problems regarding delivery arrival times, delays or discrepancies with loadsEnsure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned to the Transport Office after deliveryEnsure regular communication with the Transport Office / Customer ServicesObserve and adhere to site procedures at each delivery pointEnsure correct completion of a defect report as and when required.Achieve and succeed fuel efficiency targets set by the businessQualificationsPossession of LGV Class C+E Licence, CPC and valid Tacho card.Excellent attention to detailAbility to work without direct supervisionAdaptable and methodical approach to work/ trainingConscientious and reliableExcellent communication skillsAbility to work efficiently and accurately under pressureEffectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlinesKnowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hoursAdditional InformationAs part of our drive to make Great Bear a great place to work, we are proud to be an inclusive and diverse organisation where we are committed to employee development and recognising success for hard working performers.
