Summary

In a non-CDL role, supports operations by supplying transport services with a yard truck or tractor truck to move semi-trailers from warehouse to trailer/container parking yard and then back. This position will also manage inventory of all empty and loaded semi-trailers at trailer parking yard location.

Key Responsibilities Operates a yard truck or tractor to move loaded or unloaded semi-trailers Coordinates with warehouse personnel to move trailers from parking to dock door Manages inventory of all trailers parked in yard location Responsible for temperature checks of reefer trailer/container Scales in and scales out loads as needed Utilizes computer and computer programs to communicate, document, and track shift information and ensures that all documents and reports are completed accurately in a timely and efficient manner. Ability to balance multiple tasks, be flexible, and work well under pressure.  Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision and exercise good judgment.  Performs other duties as assigned  Typical Education

High School Diploma or General Education (GED)

Relevant Experience Preferred cold storage warehouse environment experience  Preferred six (6) months related driving experience and/or training Knowledge of pre-trip inspections and standard repair procedures within the scope of the job and solve routine problems. The ability to notice, resolve, and/or repair routine problems, understanding of when to report issues to others as necessary.  Other Information

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift, stand, walk, twist, bend over or stoop, and crawl on hard surface.  The employee is frequently required to sit while operating a Truck/Yard truck.  Must be able to hook up and unhook trucks and related lines to and from trailer.   The employee is required to climb and balance while getting in and out of the truck and while hooking and unhooking lines to and from the trailer.   The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
