High School Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

From creating the home standby generator market category, to our current evolution into an energy technology solutions company, we continue to push new boundaries. **Job Summary:** Generac’s intern position will work under the supervision of the Manager of Engineering to create, manage, and upkeep electrical component libraries and electrical schematics using the Altium Electrical CAD software package. Additionally, you will collaborate on creating 2D and 3D part models using the Creo software package. As part of this position, you will be responsible for entering new part releases, various part structures, and Engineering Change Notices into Windchill. **Basic Qualifications:** • Must be actively enrolled in high school level STEM courses. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** Electrical CAD - Altium: + Create and maintain component libraries + Enter electrical schematics **Mechanical CAD - Creo:** + Create and maintain 2D drawings in AutoCAD + Create and maintain simple 3D part models in Creo **ERP System - Windchill:** + Assist with new part/assembly releases + Issue Engineering Change Notices + Enter product structures + Other duties as assigned **Level of Independence:** • Receives a close level of technical instruction, guidance and direction from others • Develops competence by performing structured work assignments • Use existing procedures to solve problems • Strong decision-making skills • Participates in cross-functional project teams • Offer recommendations and solutions • At this level, learns how to apply principles and theories in a practical manner. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS** **:** While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to use hands to manipulate objects, tools or controls; and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to walk; stoop; crouch; bend and reach above shoulders. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 100 pounds with assistance, waist high, up to 10 feet away. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to differentiate colors.. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be working in the typical conditions of a manufacturing environment including seasonal variation in temperatures and occasional exposure to manufacturing fumes or by-products. The employee must comply with the assigned location PPE requirements including but not limited to safety glasses, hearing protection, appropriate gloves, clothing and shields for required tasks and closed toed or safety shoes as required by facility safety policies. **Physical Demands** : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
