High School Sports Clerk/Reporter - Part-Time

**NJ Advance Media** seeks a versatile **Reporter** for a part-time position in the most prominent High School Sports department in the country.
The candidate will be joining a tight-knit staff in a highly collaborative role responsible for a variety of duties, starting with the basics of reporting and gathering data and writing about games and events, to the potential for beat coverage assignments, where a reporter would be responsible for all aspects of coverage, including ranking the best teams and players in the state, breaking news, identifying trends and generating enterprise on their beats.
The pay rate for this position is $17.00/hour.
Ideal candidate will have the following:
+ A degree in journalism or communication or equivalent education and work experience with a proven ability in journalism reporting and writing
+ Minimum of 2 years of journalism experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing required
+ Ability to work independently under deadline pressure and prioritize tasks appropriately
+ Solid understanding of news writing, reporting, journalistic ethics and story structure
+ Ability to learn and master the methods and applications used to deliver content across a variety of platforms
+ Ability to leverage relationships with sources to deliver content that differentiates the organization from competitors
+ Mastery of social media and digital interaction
