The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
RTX Technology Research Center’s Physical Sciences Department is seeking an innovative materials scientist with expertise in high temperature materials, including ceramics, alloys, and composites. The ideal candidate will be an integral member of dynamic teams focused on creating and advancing novel materials and manufacturing technologies for both aerospace and defense applications.
What You Will Do
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including technical including both technical experts, various levels of managers, and functional personnel
Execute multi-disciplinary projects and provide timely deliverables to customers and stakeholders
Help to drive the development of novel materials and processes for high temperature applications in response to business unit needs.
Identify links and potential impact on projects, programs or systems.
Required Qualifications
Typically requires a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of related work experience
Expertise in high temperature materials commonly used in aerospace and defense applications, including modeling, design, and fabrication.
US Permanent Resident / Green Card required
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in writing and reviewing white papers and proposals is highly desirable
Capable of operating independently while also being comfortable working with others from a variety of backgrounds in a highly collaborative environment
Working knowledge of the high temperature material supply chain environment
Established track record of publications or patent generation in high temperature materials
Experience in utilizing data science or related modeling tools for new material discovery
Requires expert or mastery level knowledge of work area, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience.
May have deep knowledge of project management.
