High Volume Events Manager, Planning & Expansion
Amazon Logistics (AMZL) Brazil is looking for an experienced professional to lead the planning, coordination, execution and post mortem of all High Volume Events (HVE) from a last mile perspective.

The High-Volume Events Manager (Peak Captain) is a very impactful role which coordinates peak planning activities across multiple functions to proper sync between teams, ensuring planning accuracy, alignment and synchronization among internal AMZL stakeholders (Ops and station leaders, PXT, WHS, Learning, OTR program leaders, etc) and serving as point of contact to work with Supply Chain, Middle Mile, Engineering and other central functions for peak preparations. In particular, the HVE manager works on the following three macro-areas: (1) AMZL Readiness for all peaks , owning internal readiness calls, readiness docs, playbooks, trackers and reporting; (2) ensure alignment of different plans across different teams and organizations, being a liaison between local operations, S&OP team and central functions for Capacity, Volume, Resources, Stations and Network Solve; (3) Own volume planning calculations for peak, defining labor plans, route plans, aligning planning tenets and assumptions with main stakeholders to ensure solid plans for attainment, Productivity, input metrics, cube projections, among other resource related calculations.

To be successful in this role, you must be able to work across disciplines, organizations, and geographies, translating complex technical and operational concepts for varied audiences. You must think big, move fast, and pivot frequently in a dynamic environment. Prior experience in logistics is a plus, but hands-on experience in operations is a must.

Key job responsibilities
- Work with Transports Planning and Supply Chain teams to capture and align on peak events volume, understanding and sanity checking assumptions;
- Calculate, based on existing methodologies and systems, the operational requirements to operate peak events in the last mile (volume per Delivery station, required number of routes, required labor , required infra-structure, productivity metrics);
- Publish peak volume plans to key internal stakeholders, capture resource commitments from such teams to evaluate potential capacity gaps, following up on solve plans for such gaps;
- Serve as single threaded leader for all peak event related topics in last mile, providing information to other teams in a timely and accurate manner, requesting information as needed to ensure maximum visibility of plans internally for AMZL;
- Lead war room calls during peak events, coordinate action items and follow-up on critical topics during peaks;
- Lead documentation of peak plans, working closely with internal stakeholders to ensure each section of documents have clear, specific an complete plans. Provide inputs to overall to Transportation and Ops peak plan documents;
- Lead documentation on lessons learned. Ensure effective change in processes, procedures, policies and systems based on such opportunities identified after each peak.

Within AMZL Brazil, the Planning & Expansion (P&E) team overlooks 3 main areas in support to AMZL´s operation and growth: (1) Jurisdiction planning and management, driving the growth and optimization of our delivery/pick-up coverage and topology; (2) Capacity planning, ensuring adequate capacity in short/medium/long term to maximize attainment of volume within AMZL´s jurisdiction; and (3) Expansion initiatives, coordinating local efforts on “big rock” projects that enable new types of operations, new sales and delivery channels, modes of transport (Fleet types, micromobility) and end-to-end programmatic coordination of AMZL´s network expansion.
