Learn more at VRXglobal.com Position – Highway Hydraulics Engineer Primary Responsibilities: + Project Leadership: Act as a key member of the hydraulic and water resource design team, serving as a task lead or project engineer on projects ranging from small to large scale. + Project Delivery & Development: Provide leadership and support in project delivery and business development, with a primary focus on TxDOT projects. The role may also encompass rail/transit, aviation, municipal, or federal projects. + Hydraulic Design & Analysis: Conduct hydraulic design and analysis following local and national standards, including hydrology and hydraulic analysis, scour assessments, roadway drainage design, and stormwater management. Prepare Hydraulic Reports, erosion and sediment pollution control plans, and manage NPDES and Waterway Permits. + Documentation & Planning: Develop and prepare contour grading and drainage plans, erosion and sediment control plans, drainage profiles, and post-construction stormwater management plans. + Specifications & Cost Estimates: Assist in preparing project specifications, construction cost estimates, scopes, budgets, and schedules. Communicate effectively with clients both verbally and in writing. + Team Support: Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff. Write technical reports and memos, coordinate with subconsultants, and ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget. + Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as needed to support project goals and client requirements. Required Qualifications: + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. + Experience: Minimum 15 years Previous experience in general civil engineering, with a proven track record in hydraulic design. + Licensure: Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. + Certifications: Pre-certification in TXDOT categories 10.1.1, 10.2.1 required.  Prefer 10.3.1 and 10.5.1 also. + Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated leadership capabilities and strong communication skills, both verbal and written. + Technical Proficiency: Proven experience with CAD civil engineering software such as Bentley MicroStation, Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Civil 3D, hydrology and hydraulic software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, HY-8, GEOPAK Drainage, SUDA, etc) and have in-depth knowledge of the H&H being performed by the software.  VRX, Inc. is an award-winning woman owned civil engineering firm that has been in business since 2006.
