Highway Maintenance Crew Lead (CDL A or B) - Night Shift

Salary: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience, licenses (CDL A or B required), and certifications.


Position summary: Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Maintenance Crew Lead with a CDL A or B license to perform maintenance operations in the Denver, CO area specifically on the Central 70 project. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to highway maintenance, debris removal, street sweeping, sign and guardrail repair, concrete repair, mowing and vegetation control, roadway snow removal, etc. as well as adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures. Additionally, this position is an advanced technical and skilled role. The crew leader position requires 3 years of maintenance/construction experience and is likely assigned to a skilled crew responsible for increasingly difficult maintenance work requiring in-depth knowledge of local standards and specifications. This position is for Night Shift, schedule flexibility is a must as well as adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.
 

Required Experience:
 

CDL A or B required Minimum 3 years of related experience Paint and power wash experience Roadway maintenance experience Concrete forming/repair experience Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, ForkLift, Asphalt Roller, etc. operator


Responsibilities of the job include:

Set and review productivity goals based on benchmarks from the industry, other Jorgensen projects and past project performance. Be familiar with various parts of roadway, bridge, drainage structures and other road assets and correct work methods for various activities required to maintain and repair highway infrastructure. Perform a variety of maintenance tasks while leading a team effectively. Continuously train maintenance technicians in the most effective work methods and techniques. Know the current standards and specifications required for each highway infrastructure repair. Effective scheduling of work to maximize the work day and meet deadlines. Properly complete Daily Work Reports. Safely operate hand/power tools and equipment required to do each job; care for and maintain these tools and equipment in order to ensure long lasting use. Follow all site safety precautions and procedures and maintain a secure job site to eliminate potential safety hazards. Safely operate company owned SUV and up to ¾-ton pickup trucks. Complete daily logs and perform routine maintenance checks on assigned vehicles: check fluids, air filter, tire pressure, change tire, etc. Participate in weekly safety meetings and required training. Be a dependable and reliable member of the team. Show initiative; seek out work and get the job done without being told. Provide assistance to other workers as necessary. Communicate clearly with supervisors and other team members.


Preferred Experience:
 

Highway Maintenance Experience MOT Certifications (traffic control) Leadership experience Guardrail experience

Clean driving record is essential
Must pass criminal background check


Qualifications:
 

High School Diploma/GED Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. criminal record, driving record and controlled substance/drug testing) Knowledge of local driving rules and regulations Carry out simple arithmetic functions Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job Knowledge and ability to adapt to the latest technology Ability to use smart phone and applications Ability to adjust to changing work schedule Ability to work safely under ranging environmental and weather conditions Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly while twisting; other strenuous manual labor may be required Ability to operate hand/power tools


Schedule:
Full time Monday - Thursday 6:00 PM - 4:30 AM with night shift and weekend work if needed. Hours may vary occasionally. Must be able to work during snow and ice events.
