Position summary: Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Lead the project development process for roadway/highway projects Track effort and manage resources Organize and coordinate design elements with teaming partners Provide professional mentoring of EITs and Designers Lead the development of schematic design and PS&E in Texas Support other teams when needed to accomplish company milestones. Generate responses and material for SOQ’s and RFP’s Active participation in professional organizations Plan, schedule, conduct, provide oversight or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope Analyze field survey data, maps, drawings, aerial photography and other topographical data to plan projects Validate design computations Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software like Bentley’s ORD Develop construction cost estimates Assist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and construction Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates Manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines Develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals Attend meetings with clients Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
