A career-minded Highway engineer, looking towards advancement, is needed to join JMT's Highways Team in either Philadelphia or Fort Washington. The selected candidate will become part of an established team of engineers working on exciting, high profile, complex, and impactful transportation projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. They will be responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Design and Oversee plans, estimates and specifications for compliance with PennDOT, The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, and the city of Philadelphia’s guidelines and standards Develop construction documents including all aspects of highway and site design (geometrics, details, ADA criteria, roadway profiles, utility design and coordination, pavement markings, and maintenance and protection of traffic, signage) Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects Perform design computations Manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines Develop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals Prepare proposals as required Attend meetings with clients Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
