Description: General Trading is looking for an experienced Hilo / Reach Truck Mechanic. The reach truck mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of reach trucks and other warehouse equipment. Responsibilities: + Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on reach trucks, forklifts, and related equipment. + Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is safe and compliant with industry standards. + Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical issues and implement effective solutions. + Order and replace faulty parts, ensuring timely repairs to minimize equipment downtime. + Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours. + Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, ensuring a safe working environment. + Communicate with operators and management regarding equipment performance and maintenance needs. Qualifications: + High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics preferred. + At least 3 years’ experience in equipment repair, particularly with reach trucks, forklifts, or similar machinery. + Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. + Proficiency with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair manuals. + Relevant certifications (e.g., forklift mechanic certification) may be advantageous. + Must be able to lift in excess of 60 pounds What we offer: + Medical + Dental + Paid Holiday, Sick, Personal and Vacation + 401(k) matching 6am - 2:30pm, Monday - Friday 40 hours
