Position Summary
The Bar Manager is responsible for creating a service driven atmosphere that will inspire guest to return for multiple occasions. The Bar Manager will develop guidelines and goals within the structure of the budget, achieving results through hands on management techniques and cost controlling measures. This position will be responsible for staffing and training a team that will provide guests an unforgettable experience. The Bar Manager will report directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee bar area of the hotel including drink menus, coordination of food service, and bar serviceResponsible for the development of bar staff team to include recruitment and selection, orientation, training and development, scheduling, and employee relations.Develop and enforce policies and procedures in accordance to the company, brand, and applicable state and local laws.Regularly inspect and clean equipment to ensure excellent working condition and sanitationAchieve & maintain safety/health certifications for self and staff, enforce Health and safety rules, maintain all licensing for operationSupport revenue and cost objections by controlling expenses and meeting or exceeding budget goals.Setting the tone and demonstrating excellent customer service – promptly and efficiently respond to all guest inquires, complaints, or needs.Ensure that bar area is fully equipped with tools and products needed serving guests. Manage and conduct the ordering and replenishing of supplies as needed.Bar Manager Responsibilities will also include duties of bar tending, such as preparing orders, checking identification, handing payment, cleaning of area.Managing inventory in all bar outlets, including creating & maintaining inventory processes, ordering, and cost and waste control measures.Ensure staffing, inventory, and set-up of catered events.Follow QOC Policies in completing and submitting ABC Report.
Requirements
Five years of Bar Management experience – Hospitality bar management a preferred.Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Management, or a combination of experience and education preferred.Previous experience with POS system and cash managementStrong organizational skillsPrevious bartending experience and state health and /or alcohol compliance card requiredExcellent customer service skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsMust be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, twist, and reach frequently.
