General Summary:The purpose of this position is to work with both internal and external customers to authenticate, complete and track Release of Information (ROI) requests. Other responsibilities include resolving and researching outstanding record issues, answering phones, managing the WQM queues to ensure that documents are accurately filed and available and being an active participant in the document management team to ensure the highest quality medical record service. Retrieves, prints / indexes documents from WQM to the correct document folder and the physician message center. All of this is time sensitive and must be completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Essential Functions: Retrieves and prints / indexes documents from WQM to the correct document folder and physician message center. Provide WQM training to all practice managers / staff as indicated. Serve as liaison with physician practices for medical record issues. Ensure all HEDIS requests are processed timely and include all requested information. Ensure IView is populated with quality measure information accurately and timely. Manages internal and external requests for medical records via phone, mail, fax, electronic or walk-in while maintaining turnaround times as designated by State/Federal laws and regulations as well as hospital and departmental policy. Authenticate the accuracy and validity of authorization for release of information as appropriate while verifying the patient identity. Ensure the request /authorization is HIPAA Compliant. Assess the validity and completeness of the records being released based on authorization. Log’s information into MRO for tracking. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of the medical record depicting the episode of care provided.
